(The story of David and Goliath is found in 1 Samuel Chapter 17)
Dressing up like a soldier doesn’t make you a fighter. We have to fight fear with our own weapons. Our weapons are the truth that God has said about His people. We are righteous because He is, and that protects our heart and soul. We are fearless when we turn turn away from doing wrong. We follow the gospel of Jesus Christ and we believe and repeat the promises of God. Above all, we trust that God will see us through. We have to open our mouths and speak to our fears. The longer we keep our mouths shut, the longer we suffer. Pick up the Bible and read Psalms and John out loud to start!
David’s help did not come from friends or family. It came from the faith that was inside of him. He remembered how God helped him in the past, so he believed that God would do it again. Do you believe that God will help you? Jesus told us that the Helper, the Comforter comes to teach us, remind us of what Jesus said. Also, a different kind of peace will come to rest on the inside of us. Don’t let your heart be troubled (fearful)!
Get ready. With these weapons we will have the victory over our fears. Don’t miss part 5!
