The word that David uses to describe Goliath is “defiant”. He is so right because that is the position fear takes in our lives. It stands in total defiance and disobedience to what God says about us, and what he has for us.
When we dig into our struggles with drugs, alcohol,depression, racism, porn, gossiping,gambling, thugging, abuse, hatred, prejudice and legalism, etc. we will find the spirit of fear at the root of it all. Until we overcome fear with faith, we will continue to struggle. If we want to be free, we will have to fight for it.
Just like David, we have to believe that God has prepared us to win, and that He stands with us. We are never alone!

Fear takes away your joy, your peace, your wealth, your happiness, your ability to give love, and your ability to receive love. That’s the reason God wants us to defeat fear!
